Calico Fort

Fort Deposit welcomes you in April to Calico Fort. Arts & Crafts, funnels cakes, live music, jewelry and more are waiting your arrival. Wear your walking shoes and enjoy strolling in the shade through vendors' booths at Calico Fort.

Relay for Life

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. The event is held in May at the Greenville YMCA.

Hank Williams Day Celebration

The first weekend of June thousands of Hank Williams fans come to Georgiana to pay tribute to country music's greatest legend. Everyone enjoys country music concerts, street dances, mouth-watering food, and special activities. While you are there, tour Hank Williams boyhood home and museum.

Celebrate America

The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce hosts Celebrate America, an annual Fourth of July Celebration. It is held at the Greenville High School stadium and continues to grow each year. This family friendly event is sure to wow the audience with a fireworks spectacular. Refreshments are available. Call the Chamber, 334-382-3251 for more information.

Watermelon Jubilee

Watermelon Jubilee is postponed until construction is finished, but th Greenville YMCA plans to revive the event. The second weekend in August is the time to enter a seed-spitting contest and taste some delicious watermelon. Watermelon Hill is filled with vendors showcasing arts and crafts, clothing, jewelry and more.

Butler County Fair

The last week in September the Kiwanis Club of Greenville will host the Butler County Fair. Art exhibits, flower arrangements, and livestock shows are just a few additions the Kiwanis Club adds to the traditional cotton candy and Ferris wheel fair.

Old Time Farm Day

Spring and fall bring mule-plowing teams, pedal tractor races, boot races, quilting and farm animals. Demonstrations of blacksmith, gristmill and basket making will transport you to the past. Bring your folding chairs to the Thompson Farm on Sandcutt Road, Greenville, AL.

Sweet Potato Festival

The first weekend in November the Optimist Club sponsors the Sweet Potato Festival. Held at the Butler County Fairgrounds, this annual event features delicious pies, cakes and other treats.

Christmas Parade

Santa arrives in Greenville via fire truck to start our holiday season. Local organizations, schools and community groups participate with floats, tractors, scooters, etc. The processional is judged and prizes awarded to the best entries in float and decorated vehicle divisions.
